About the role

Sport and physical activity is an increasingly important area of work at Sense; it plays a key role in increasing wellbeing, building confidence and relationships whilst supporting people to become fit and healthy. We want you to be part of this.

The recently established Sense Active Programme delivered successful project called Deafblind Active. Following this, Sport England are supporting us to deliver a new more development-focussed project called ‘Sporting Sense’.

This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative and dedicated individual to lead Sense’s work around sport and physical activity.

You will manage a committed national team and be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the delivery of the project. Your enthusiasm will see you develop exciting new projects and ideas, inspiring more people with sensory impairment to take part in physical activity.

To succeed in this role, you will need a positive attitude towards work, colleagues and service users.  You will have substantial sports development experience, particularly in developing and delivering community sports programmes for disabled people. You will have excellent relationships in the sector with experience of shaping and influencing the strategy and direction of national governing bodies.

An excellent understanding of the sports and disability sector across England is essential.
