Job Description

If you are a self-starter, not afraid of hard work, and want to grab a rare chance to work and learn in a high-performance sporting environment, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

The successful applicant will report directly to the 1st Team Physiotherapist and work closely with the multi-disciplinary Sports Science & Medicine Team, including Physiotherapists, Strength & Conditioning Coaches, Club Doctor and Psychologist, as well as the 1st and 2nd Team Coaches and Academy Director.

You will be responsible for providing physiotherapy cover at all home and away Lancashire 2nd XI and Academy matches throughout the summer season, travelling with the team around Lancashire and other counties in the UK as determined by the team fixtures.

Attendance at training sessions, screenings and recovery sessions is integral to the role. Support with the treatment and rehabilitation of injured international, professional, Academy and age group players, as directed by the 1st Team Physiotherapist will also be required.

The successful applicant will:

• Be a fully Chartered Physiotherapist holding a degree in Physiotherapy. (Sports Rehabilitators and Sports therapists will not be considered for this post).

• Hold Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registration.

• Hold a visa to live and work in the United Kingdom in the case of overseas applicants.

• Be flexible and willing to work the unsocial hours that come with working in a high performance professional sporting environment.

• Have their own transport and a clean driving licence.

• Have an enthusiastic personality, being able to motivate and inspire confidence in others.

You do not need extensive physiotherapy or sports physiotherapy experience to apply for this position. However, you must be reliable, willing to learn, able to follow instructions and be punctual and efficient.

It is important you have a hands-on approach to soft tissue work and massage, combined with confidence in your ability to perform hands on assessment, treatment and rehabilitation.

An understanding or background in the game of cricket is desirable and the successful applicant will be required to help with team warm ups and fielding drills. It is expected that the successful applicant will have the ability to mix easily in a dressing room environment with athletes of various ages and backgrounds.

The position is full time and will commence in March 2018. Salary, benefits and further opportunities will be discussed at interview.

The successful applicant will need to be available to attend an ECB Trauma Management Training course (Advanced Life Support) February 16th and 17th 2018 at the National Cricket Centre in Loughborough.
