Job Description

The Motor Sports Association (MSA) is the sole National Governing Body for four-wheel motor sport in the UK. The MSA is a not-for-profit organisation comprising around 750 affiliated motor clubs, which are represented by 13 Regional Associations nationwide. They represent approximately 30,000 competition licence holders and 9,500 volunteer marshals and officials, and issues permits for around 5,000 motor sport events every year.

The MSA are searching for a commercially focused Chief Executive Officer. The role requires critical stakeholder management skills coupled with a high level of personal integrity to help with the growth and direction of this organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and provide direction to the Executive and leadership teams to implement the agreed objectives.
• Ensure a successful management and organisational structure at all times; develop this in line with the changing needs of the organisation and ensure any required changes are effectively communicated.
• Ensure that the customer is at the heart of all that is done at the MSA.
• Identify and establish new motor sport related business ventures in partnership with commercial partners to deliver additional revenue to the MSA.
• Preserve regular contact across key personnel within motor sport and motor sport-related businesses, from racetrack owners to event organisers.

Experience:
• Proven success as a senior leader, either as a CEO, Managing Director, General Manager or Commercial Director within complex, matrixed organisations where there is a need to gain consensus across a number of senior parties of differing views and with differing agendas.
• Experience of operating in a consumer facing business with significant P&L and balance sheet accountability.
• Successful delivery of strategy through multiple stakeholders and specifically a volunteer network.
• Evidence of raising funds, and creating new income streams.
