What is the role? 
Southampton Football Club is currently going through an exciting period of growth with ambitious plans for future success on and off the pitch. To achieve their objectives significant investment is being made into the commercial and marketing functions to become ‘best in field’ and to drive new and existing revenue streams, increase fan engagement and enhance the positioning of the brand.

As Head of Brand & Marketing you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the brand and marketing strategies for Southampton Football Club, Halo (events & catering business), foundation (charity), and St Mary’s Training Centre (training business). You must be able to demonstrate experience of developing marketing strategies that are audience led, measurable and effective.

The club is looking for a creative, innovative and forward thinker but also someone who can bring the science too, using data, analytics and ROI to the heart of every project. You must be able to work well in a collaborative environment and exhibit the ability to manage a department, control timelines and budgets and work towards solutions for complex problems.

The Role: 
• Create and develop the Club’s marketing strategy to support the overall club vision and business strategy. • Develop marketing plans, budgets and KPIs to support and achieve the agreed marketing strategy. • Develop integrated marketing solutions to drive revenue across all business units • Think innovatively and creatively to ensure every opportunity is taken to tell our brand story and raise the brand profile of Southampton FC • Continually consider how we are growing our fan base/customer base and increasing engagement levels locally, regionally and globally. • Create cutting edge, award winning, entertaining content that goes beyond our fans to all football fans. • Support our Football First Strategy into global markets with marketing plans and tools that allow us to maximize these opportunities • Create hard-working, best in class partner activations and work alongside the Sponsorship team to help secure new partners. • Focus on monetizing our digital assets with Head of Digital and Head of CRM, Data & Analytics. • Proactively build and improve on match day entertainment and thereby building a more engaged atmosphere. • Work with Head of CRM, Data and Analytics to understand our fan base personas in different markets and use these to drive acquisition, retention and loyalty plans across all business units. • Develop, manage and motivate a growing team to deliver high standards of branding and marketing.

What are we looking for? 
• Significant marketing pedigree with a focus towards digital, CRM and Brand • Proven track record of successfully developing and executing high quality marketing plans from conception to implantation • Creative mind-set with strong knowledge of digital, CRM and analytics • Proven leadership and talent management skills to develop and drive a growing department • Outstanding communication, relationship management, and presentation skills • Highly organised and detail orientated operational leader
