JOB DESCRIPTION

British Canoeing is the United Kingdom’s Governing Body for the sport and recreation of canoeing and kayaking. This is an exciting time to join British Canoeing, as we are making progress in delivering Stronger Together – an exciting and ambitious new strategy for paddlesport in the UK (2017-2021).
With just over one year until the Tokyo Olympic Games we are now seeking to appoint a Canoe Sprint Team Manager to be an integral part of supporting our athletes, coaches and support staff to deliver on the international stage. The role is an exciting opportunity to work within an ambitious team to assist delivering a world class Performance Environment for its Olympic & Paralympic Podium and Podium Potential athletes. Responsibilities include planning and delivery of logistics for training camps and international competitions, ensuring clear internal and external communication. Another key component is working closely with the head coach to coordinate athlete performance meetings and lead on ensuring the annual performance review is delivered.
This exciting role would suit an individual who wants to be a part of an ambitious team with a clear performance objective. The role presents opportunities to influence culture and the performance environment and requires a versatile skill set including strong planning, communication and attention to detail. You must be able to work under pressure, whilst prioritising tasks to meet agreed deadlines, as well as meeting Health and Safety regulations.

This is a varied, interesting and busy role and the nature of the work requires some overseas travel, weekend working and working outside of normal office hours.

Candidates will ideally have experience of working in a high-performance sporting environment and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the athlete environment.
